762 A.D.
Goku crash lands on Planet Yardrat.
During his recovery he meets Kai and his mother.
Intense training begins between Goku and Kai.
Kai's mother begins showing signs of an illness that seems to be affecting her heart.
Much has happened over the years and will be covered in a "flashback" photo/narrative as the story progresses...
Kai is training with Goku and gets extremely frustrated because he feels so helpless by not being able to save his mother [She becomes quite ill with some strange heart disease] but at the same time not being able to become a Super Saiyan….During a day of training, Kai just snapped from his self hatred. Because of this, Kai’s angered manifested into the False SSJ Form. Blinded by rage and anger Kai lets loose.
Since Goku is a very new Super Saiyain, I would like to think Kai gets the upper hand at first, since Goku can’t transform easily…. it’s only a False SSJ Transformation after all on Kai’s part…
but all good battles have to come to an end, and well simply, Goku kicks the shit out of Kai til he eventually calms down…
When it’s all said and done, a few days later Goku feels it is time to leave and return home……telling Kai as he leaves, to come visit planet Earth..
The False SSJ was only ever seen in Movie 4 and truly no other note has been made. The coloring was a real challenge, especially when it came to the armor and clothes….it’s a shame it never really took off, but I wanted to pay tribute to an interesting idea and concept...
This was my first attempt with both this form, and attempting some new techniques and a new program.
If this was the actual show, I could see Goku’s voice being heard in the background, “it’s a need, not a desire”
I am in the process of going back and fixing a few things to make this piece more updated with my current designs. I drew this early on before I had other programs I currently use now. Expect a HUGE change, because I was not happy with this. You can see that Kai's SSJ Hair is not the current version....and Lord Frost looks way too much like Captain Ginyu. Going back to the drawing board....
463 A.D.
After Goku left Planet Yardrat, Kai’s mother became ill with the Heart Disease we all know Goku will get in the years that follow.
With the assistance from the Yardratians, Kai was able to locate someone who might be able to cure the disease.
But soon after leaving the Planet, Yardrat was attacked by the sinister Lord Frost [Brother to King Cold]
Nearly all of the inhabitants were decimated…Kai’s mother tortured and beaten, but left alive until Kai returned home..
Frost’s minions were the welcoming party and the fighting began…..
Panic and desperation coursed through Kai’s veins, fear clouded his focus…..but at long last, he will prove victorious only to see what horrors lie ahead
It was on this frightful day that another Saiyan was lost to the universe….Right in front of Kai, Frost blasts a hole right through her heart…..Laughing!!
Dropping to his knees, bloody and feeling utterly defeated, Kai was at a lost..
but that sickening laughter kept echoing in his mind…over and over.
As if a fuse was lit deep inside, fear turned to anger, anger to Rage…it happened
at last it happened….
Another Super Saiyan was born!!

The final moments between Kai and Lord Frost…
Needless to say, Frost is not the victor by any means.
I wanted to pay tribute to the series, and took a classic scene from the DBZ Movie: Fusion Reborn…and did my own version of when Gohan attacked Frieza….It’s not perfect by any means..but it works for me and for the story I am trying to tell….
Also to note, I bulked Lord Frost up a tad to be fighting at 100% in his final form. It wasn’t til after I finished this did I realize I forgot to add battle damage and many cuts/bruises etc….ahhh well.

Here is Lord Frost in his final Form…..My previous photo shows him in his powered down state, but like I said I was never happy with that concept.
Who is Lord Frost may be the common question….
so allow me to explain ever so briefly who he is…
Lord Frost: Brother to King Cold and the main antagonist in this specific Chapter in Kai’s Story who went to Planet Yardrat for colonization for the Planet Trade Organization, Frost was relentless.
Forms
Lord Frost has 2 forms. His normal state and his “final form”.
His race has the ability to achieve multiple forms in retrospect of their power levels….but since Frost is short lived in Kai’s story, I feel showing his normal form and final form [at least the last one he will ever achieve] is sufficient.
To elaborate on the “Final Form” I wish to say this:
Since the movies aren’t truly related to the standard DBZ Timeline…Cooler is said to be the only one to achieve a “final form” but that is strictly from the point of the movies. Since I’m doing the normal Timeline I have a little more freedom. So really it could be his “5th form” but for the sake of the story…there is no need really for that amount of character depth and detail…
I wanted to take aspects of his family in his development so there would be some over lapping similarities with the main concept. They are related after all, but I also added a few things that make him different as well.
I was a big fan of the face mask on Cooler and I really wanted to do that for him…mainly since I think they all look gay with those purplish lips….but that’s my opinion.
I hope you all enjoy this concept…I personally think he looks bad ass!!
I used some bone textures for the “armour” and added some skin textures to create a more “reptilian” feel. When there tails whip around it reminds me of snakes. I also tried a new feature, and that was the eye glow, which I think adds that darker, evil tone..
